After spending months locked in his basement, Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden revealed that there is concern about his mental faculties during a Tuesday press conference.
Biden admitted that he is “constantly tested” when pressed by a reporter to answer for his questionable mental state.
“Some have speculated that you are subject to some degree of cognitive decline,” the reporter said. “I’m 65, I don’t have word recollection that I used to have, I forgot my train of thought from time to time. You got 12 years on me, sir.”
“Have you been tested for some degree of cognitive decline?” the reporter asked.
“I’ve been tested and I’m constantly tested,” Biden responded. “Look, all you got to do is watch me and I can hardly wait to compare my cognitive capability to the cognitive capability of the man I’m running against.”
This question may have been the only remotely difficult one during the press conference as the reporters largely opted instead to give the former Vice President a number of easy questions in an attempt to shelter the preferred candidate of the mainstream media.
Former White House Press Secretary Ari Fleischer tweeted: “So far, no one has asked about why Biden mentioned the Logan Act in January 2017 and misled the public about his role in the prosecution of Michael Flynn.”
“The difference between the tenor of the questions to Biden compared to the questions asked of Trump is striking,” Fleischer continued. “After 8 years of going easy on Obama, almost 4 years of being brutal to Trump, the MSM seems happy to go easy again.”
Fleischer added, “What wasn’t asked: 1) Anything about Biden’s role in authorizing surveillance against the Trump campaign 2) Do blue lives matter? 3) Should CHOP in Seattle never have been allowed? 4) will you prosecute those who destroy statues? 5) Should NYPD be cut $1 billion?”
Wall Street Journal columnist Kimberley Strassel also touched on this issue by writing: “Wow. Biden comes out of basement and agrees to finally answer a question or two. Our intrepid press corps uses the moment to ask him to explain, over and over, just how awesome he’ll be.”
Trump and his campaign have come after Biden for his concerningly frequent verbal blunders, in May launching a faux “investigative” series that spotlights his numerous verbal miscues on the campaign trail.
“The American people deserve to know the truth behind Joe Biden’s delirious and nonsensical claims on the campaign trail,” Trump campaign communications director Tim Murtaugh said in the video. “When he’s mangling the text of the Declaration of Independence or calling someone a ‘lying, dog-faced pony soldier,’ is he really speaking a language that only he and a select group of others understand?”
During the press conference Joe also attempted to go after Trump by way of the latest story being pushed by the left that alleges the Russians paid the Taliban bounties for kills on U.S. soldiers.
Trump was not briefed on the matter because it was not believed to be credible information. The DOD on Tuesday said that there is no corroborating evidence to verify the claims of the story originally pushed by the New York Times.
The US secretary of defense said that while the Pentagon takes all threats against US troops “very seriously,” there is so far no proof for the ever-shifting story that Russia paid bounties for the killing of US soldiers.
In a statement on Tuesday, US Defense Secretary Mark Esper said the top military brass treats the security of military personnel, including in Afghanistan, as a high priority.
“I want to assure all of our service members that the Department takes very seriously any and all potential threats against US military personnel,” he said.
Esper noted that while he and others in the US military command seek to ensure that “the best intelligence,” as well as weapons, gear, and equipment are available to the troops on the ground, there is currently no “no corroborating evidence… to validate the recent allegations regarding malign activity by Russian personnel against US forces in Afghanistan.”
Clueless Biden said said it was unimaginable that Trump would not have known about the intelligence, and ironically attempted to call into question the president’s cognitive abilities.
“The president talks about cognitive capability, but he is not cognitively aware of what’s going on,” Biden said.
Looking to have the president taken care of for him, Biden also called on the do-nothing Democrats in Congress to investigate the president over the matter.
