This week, the White House continued to inform the public about its updated pandemic rules. CNN’s Jim Acosta, as usual, used the crisis to push the network’s political agenda. He tried to, once again, claim the president did not act fast enough. Member of Trump’s task force, Dr. Fauci, shut the fake news reporter down.
Over the month of March, we’ve watched the media try to spin the virus outbreak one way or another. Early on, they tried to downplay the whole thing. Democrat leaders claimed everything was fine. Over the first week of March, liberals encouraged Americans to go about their business. But as the number of infections spiked, they quickly changed their tune.
They went from not caring, to spreading panic nearly over time. It was particularly interesting to note that they started this, once they realized how the virus would impact the economy. The liberal media started hyping up this situation, knowing it would hurt Trump’s historic economy.
But how can you blame the outbreak of a Chinese-originated virus on an American president? You make up the narrative that Trump acted “too slowly.” The media has pushed the idea that Trump should have acted earlier to stop the spread. What they expected him to do, they don’t say. But they are clearly using this crisis as a tool to damage his re-election.
Imagine being so corrupt, so soulless, that you’d a deadly disease to push politics?
But one of the nation’s top doctors—a man helping to battle this war—put Jim Acosta in his place when he tried to push this narrative.
Dr. Anthony Fauci, Director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases at the National Institutes of Health, shut down CNN’s Jim Acosta on Tuesday for suggesting that President Donald Trump did not act early enough to stop the spread of the coronavirus…
“But they were early. They started early,” Acosta claimed. “We were watching South Korea, excuse me, and China and Italy, and we weren’t taking action when those countries were spiking.”
“In a perfect world, it would have been nice to know what was going on” in China,” Fauci responded. “We didn’t, but I believe Jim, that we, we acted very, very early in that.” [Source: Daily Wire]
It’s pretty rich that only now is the media saying we should have acted “early.” Our media was parroting what China and WHO was saying for months, that the virus was not a big deal or very infectious. During the months of November, December, and January (when we could have acted earlier), the media and Democrats were obsessed with impeaching Donald Trump.
Not once did the media or Democrats in D.C. talk about taking steps to confront the virus. Who acted the earliest in our country? President Trump. He declared a nation health emergency in January when he closed the border to China. And he formed his task force the same time, to prepare.
It’s very easy for a media that does nothing but lie to now say Trump acted slow. When they were not concerned in the slightest when this thing spread across Asia and entered Europe. Add to the fact that nobody was able to act early, because China kept lying about this disease. The CDC even wanted to send investigators to China to study the outbreak, but were denied.
There’s only so much you can do, when you don’t have all the facts.
The truth is, when Trump was trying to move fast, our broken government bureaucracy slowed him down. If anyone is to blame for this crisis, it’s the career politicians who refused to hold agencies accountable for years. And it’s the media who choose to back China over their own president.
Maybe this crisis will wake up the media and change their industry. But I’m not holding my breath.
