Responding to a NY Post story that President Trump may pull federal funds from cities deemed “lawless” NY Governor Andrew Cuomo had some harsh words that some are saying sounds like a veiled threat against the President.
During a press briefing Wednesday, referring to President Trump, Governor Cuomo said “He better have an army if he thinks he’s gonna walk down the street in New York. New Yorkers don’t want to have anything to do with him.”
Cuomo added “He can’t have enough bodyguards to walk through New York City, people don’t want to have anything to do with him.”
Attorney and GOP official Harmeet Dhillon shared the story of Cuomo’s comments on Twitter and wrote “Sounds like a criminal threat.”
Stacy Washington, host of SirusXmPatriot wrote “Can you imagine a red state governor saying this about Obama?”
Earlier in the day Wednesday, Trump had mocked Governor Cuomo’s little brother, Chris Cuomo of CNN.
Reacting to a segment of Tucker Carlson’s show featured audio between Chris Cuomo and Michael Cohen, President Trump asks “Will Fredo be fired by Fake News @CNN?”
Trump then writes “He speaks with great disrespect about women, and it will only get worse. Fredo’s Ratings are bad, so this is the time. Always terrible to speak to sleazebags, especially when you are being recorded. CNN has no choice, Fredo must go!”
