A Fox News source revealed that U.S. Attorney for Connecticut John Durham is now going “full throttle” on his review of the origins of the Trump-Russia 2016 election probe that turned out to be a massive hoax.
“He’s going full throttle, and they’re looking at everything,” the source said.
According to the source, Durham now has multiple top prosecutors looking into different aspects of the original probe including U.S. attorneys Jeff Jensen and Timothy Shea.
“They farmed the investigation out because it is too much for Durham and he didn’t want to be distracted,” the source said.
Meanwhile, a source said that the “pattern of conduct” Durham is investigating includes misrepresentations made to the FISA court to obtain warrants to surveil Trump campaign associate Carter Page.
“Barr talks to Durham every day,” Fox News said. “The president has been briefed that the case is being pursued, and it’s serious.”
As the intensity of the investigation ramps up, President Trump delivered a powerful warning.
“It was a very dangerous situation what they did,” Trump said during an interview with “Fox & Friends” Friday. “These are dirty politicians and dirty cops and some horrible people and hopefully they’re going to pay a big price in the not too distant future.”
Trump was specifically reacting to newly released transcripts of interviews from the House Intelligence Committee’s Russia investigation which exposed top Obama officials who had acknowledged they knew of no “empirical evidence” of a conspiracy despite their concerns and suspicions.
The transcripts, which were released by House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff revealed top Obama officials were questioned over whether they had or had seen evidence of such collusion, coordination or conspiracy — the issue that drove the FBI’s initial case and later the special counsel probe. They resoundingly answered no.
“I never saw any direct empirical evidence that the Trump campaign or someone in it was plotting/conspiring with the Russians to meddle with the election,” former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper testified in 2017. “…I do not recall any instance where I had direct evidence.”
Multiple sources have suggested that Durham’s probe will be concluded by the end of this summer.
On another front, pushback was ramped up on the crooked mainstream media, with Former Rep. Trey Gowdy calling out reporters who helped push the false narrative that the President had in some way colluded with Russia in 2016.
Gowdy focused specifically on those who aided Schiff “peddle” leaks from the House Intelligence Committee’s Russia investigation.
“Let’s just start with Politico and anyone not named Rachael Bade,” Gowdy said. “She was the only reporter that I dealt with that was fair. Kyle Cheney is just an acolyte for Adam Schiff.”
He continued: “Manu Raju from CNN–Nothing Schiff wanted out, made public — no leak was too low for Manu Raju and CNN.”
As for The New York Times? All Gowdy said you had to do was “fill in the blank.”
Gowdy had previously warned that he would fire off these names on Friday.
“The media, not only did they not provide scrutiny over Adam Schiff, they aided and abetted him,” Gowdy told Fox News’ Sean Hannity. “Politico, the Hill, Washington Post, New York Times, I’ll come on and even give you the reporters’ names sometime. The reporters who sat there and helped Adam Schiff perpetrate this fraud, next time I’m with you I’ll give you the names of the reporters.”
