Former President Donald Trump reaffirmed his commitment to the Republican party in a speech at his Mar-a-Lago resort on Saturday. The speech was delivered to high-rolling donors of the Republican party and members of the press were not allowed in. A source inside the event revealed that Trump threw away his script, and unleashed fire and fury against the establishment RINOs still hell-bent on dividing the party.
“The key to this triumphant future will be to build on the gains our amazing movement has made over the past four years,”
“We transformed the Republican Party into a party that truly fights for all Americans.”
There still remains a significant wing of the GOP that hopes to move past Trump’s signature style of leadership. However, given the location of the RNC donors event, the Former President still remains the leader and taste-maker of the Party for now.
Trump’s further commitment to the Republican remains vague. While he has vowed to put his weight behind the party leading up to the 2022 midterms, others decisions have left his role up-in-the-air. Earlier this year, Trump’s legal team demanded the Republican National Convention cease using the Former President’s likeness on donation material. Additionally, rumors have swirled that Trump plans to form his own political party to rebuff the RINOs currently leading the Republicans.
Trump has categorically denied these rumors.
Nevertheless, Trump and his allies still manage to rake in tons of campaign cash. An endorsement from the Former President has been highly coveted leading up to the 2022 midterms.
