The Academy Awards ceremony has long been an antiquated tradition no longer containing the magic of old Hollywood’s past. It’s no longer Elizabeth Taylor sipping champagne and smoking a cigarette while clutching her ‘Best Actress’ Oscar award for her role in Butterfield 8.
It’s snide, sneering actors and actresses who feel compelled to inject the once-great tradition with left-politics and preachy invectives directed at Americans.
The Oscars are a pathetic shell of their former greatness.
America must agree because the ratings for previous broadcasts of the Academy Awards have been abysmal. Turns out Americans don’t appreciate being lectured to by a group of rich actors who can’t help but showcase their overt left-wing biases.
However, something interesting finally happened during this year’s Oscars ceremony.
Actor Will Smith appeared to strike presenter Chris Rock in the face on stage apparently over a joke that Rock told about Smith’s wife.
The altercation, which took place on live television, had many wondering if the attack was real or a stunt to generate social media interest in the broadcast.
Chris Rock was on stage at the Dolby Theatre to present the award for documentary feature. The comedian cracked a joke about Jada Pinkett Smith’s bald head, saying she looked like she belonged in “G.I. Jane 2.”
Smith then stormed the stage and appeared to slap Rock across the face. “Wow, Will Smith just smacked the shit out of me,” said Rock.
Smith took his seat and appeared to mouth the words: “Keep my wife’s name out of your fucking mouth!”

Will Smith is nominated for lead actor for his role in King Richard, in which he played the father of tennis greats Venus and Serena Williams.
Smith would go on to win the Best Actor Oscar for his role as Richard Williams in King Richard.
“I want to apologize to the Academy, I want to apologize to all my fellow nominees,” he said during his acceptance speech, without elaborating.
Now, can you imagine if a white actor smacked Chris Rock over a joke?
The actor would immediately be carted off in handcuffs, called a white supremacist, and faced intense backlash from every mainstream media outlet known to man. The actor would be locked away in a mental institution, forced to apologize for his sins, and would subsequently be shunned from Hollywood for good.
Will Smith? He gets a pass, and I think we all know why…
